How do I print your background papers on a letter size
printer?
There are many options - try printing the backgrounds onto regular letter or A4
paper and then use them on 12x12 cardstock to create a page. Cut cardstock or
photo paper into two pieces 8x12 and 4x12 and print the design onto each piece
- a letter size printer can print 12 inches long but can't print a sheet wider
than will fit in the printer. Piece the papers together for a full 12x12
background or use the strips as accents on your pages. Find more printing tips
and tricks on our Resources page or subscribe to our newsletter.
Are these backgrounds suitable for hand scrapped pages?
Yes! We designed these backgrounds so that they can be printed as backgrounds
for hand scrapped pages. In the Gallery, you'll find many pages that are
hand-scrapped using our designs as backgrounds and other page elements.
Will you display my page in your gallery?
We'd love to! Anyone who uses our backgrounds is invited to submit their page
for inclusion in our gallery. Email the digital page or a photograph of a paper
page, sized to 600x600 pixels and saved as a jpg file to
gallery@backgroundartz.com. Include your name, the collection you used, the
page title and a brief description of the page. We'll consider it for inclusion
in the Gallery so check back regularly to see if your page is there.
I am interested in joining your design team, do you have
openings?
Yes we do. To make an application to join the design team, send an email to
designteam@backgroundartz.com with your name, a brief biography and tell us why
you want to become a member. Include digital images of two or three layouts
you've created using our backgrounds. We will contact you.
How do I use the alphabets that are included in your
collections?
The alphabets are saved so each letter is a separate file. To make a title,
open the letters you need and then copy and paste them onto your page. To print
the letters for a hand-scrapped page follow the steps in the article on
printing alphabets in the Resources list.
Some collections include images with and without shadows,
what should I choose?
If you're a digital scrapbooker, having shadows included will save you having
to add shadows when you assemble your page. If you're using alphabets on a
hand-scrapped page choose the version without shadows.
I am new to digital scrapbooking. Do you have some tips to
help me get started?
Our Resources page has lots of links to sites with good information for first
time digital scrappers. We've also written some step-by-step guides to getting
started with digital scrapping and our newsletter has tips for digital as well
as paper scrappers.
If you have a question you can't find a solution to, use the email form on our
Contact Us page to ask us - we'll do our best to answer it.
Will you be adding more collections to the scrapbooking
collection in the future?
Our scrapbook collection will change over time. New collections will be
launched and old ones retired. From time to time we'll also offer add on packs
of extra elements that coordinate with our existing collections.
I have a collection with a transparent text overlay. How do
I use this?
Open your digital scrapbook page and the transparency file. In Photoshop and
Photoshop Elements, click the transparency file, choose Select > All and then
choose Edit > Copy to copy the transparency. Switch to your scrapbook page and
choose Edit > Paste to create a new layer with the transparency on it. Because
the layer is transparent, you'll see the image below through the transparency.
If you are making a hand-scrapped page, print the transparency onto inkjet
transparency paper. If the background paper is in the .GIF format, then choose
Image, Mode, RGB Color before you begin working on it.
